some people here also mentioned about ancestral lands, nganong ila pa man angkonon ang mindanao or parts of mindanao? they already have brunei, malaysia, borneo, thailand, indonesia, etc. kay abi di'ay napadpad sila didto sa unang panahon ilaha na di'ay? this is a squatter mentality. this is the Philippines and the Philippines IS NOT a moslem country PERIOD!

and one thing that i cannot understand about them is why they have to COLLECTIVELY OWN the land they inhabited long ago when it is NOT THEIR LAND to start with. why can't each moslem just own a parcel of land in mindanao and co-exist with Christians. you know why they won't? because they can't. and history has proven that.

they are the ones isolating themselves from Philippine culture, society and government not the other way around.

moslems living in the U.S. are not claiming land in the U.S. because they obviously cannot pull off that trick they are playing in the Philippines and moslems outside the U.S. find the U.S. as The Great Oppressor thus the 9/11 attack and the Philippines is a U.S. ally but most JI leaders also stay in the Philippines. How ironic! What does that make the Philippines? the Great Prostitute? We welcome EVERBODY and we don't make a stand.

I say the government should solve that very old problem. Collective land ownership by Moslems in Mindanao should not be granted, if they won't agree then they will be regulated through passports or an ID system and the last resort is war. The sad thing though is that when politicians play politics their political will is tied to the ground and the military makes war a lucrative business.

Philippine land should not be given to Moslems because it is simply NOT THEIRS. Why do they have to claim something nga dili ilaha but they just perceive nga ilaha. If they want they can go to Brunei or Borneo, lu-ag pa kaayo didto. The way I see it, they are not the ones being bullied and oppressed but it is the other way around.

i guess their historical claim to the land was based on the historical lands of the sultanate of sabah. which includes part of mindanao before it was annexed by the spanish. actually luzon, visayas and mindanao was not 1 country under 1 flag prior to the spanish conquest. all 3 islands were independent states.

part of the reason why they want to collectively own part of mindanao is because of the rampant discriminations and lack of opportunity that is happening now even as we speak sa mga muslim sa mindanao. i know for a fact that in mindanao, the muslims are discriminated against by the elite and far wealthier christians. maybe mao na siya ang reason. but i know valid ang "cassus belli" or cause of war sa mga muslims in mindanao. i just dont approve of it.

i am for 1 nation under 1 flag. but ka sabot sad ko sa stand sa tarong na mga muslim about the independent musilm state.

i just wished na ma fix sa government ang issue sa discrimination and lack of opportunity sa muslim sa mindanao from the grassroots para ma human ang issue.

1 thing to start with kay education... instead of giving money to nur misuari (gi-palit lang ug armas sa MNLF) mag tukod ug school with quality educational system para sa mga muslims... kay ang mga quality educational establishment sa mindanao kay catholic school or chinese school man na dili mu dawat ug muslims. thats will help open the minds of the young muslims.. atleast dili dali ma tintal sa mga radical na imam's and muslim leaders.

sakto sad! but nothing is stopping them to get quality education just like what the poor christians in other parts of this country are striving for, not only moslems.

education is the key gyud not only with the young generation of moslems but also sa mga christian pinoys because with a well-educated citizenry there are lesser chances of mediocre politicians in winning future elections.

We see obvious reasons that leads to war in Mindanao and ending it is almost a fantasy. I agree that discrimination is also one of them. Our society is almost solely based on christian law. But i think there is also exemptions.

For me, as long as they are many muslims that are un-educated, arms business is good. It will not end.

I think Brunei is generally peaceful, don't you? Anyways, the problem in Mindanao is not a "muslim" problem, it is caused by a few fragmented but powerful radical groups that hide behind the cloak of Islam to justify their behaviour.
