USA BAsketball Team won for this coming olympic?

By looking at the first game, it's over for the FIBA Americas. USA will win games in a lopsided manner. I was looking at some of the highlights and what I saw was not a typical NBA game. It was a little bit of FIBA basketball, NBA and streetball in one. USA rotated the ball well and in turn got some open looks. Who would've taught Michael Redd would lead USA with 17 points along with Carmelo Anthony while Kobe Bryant leading USA with 5 assists. That's Kobe being unselfish yet doing his usual highlight reels, topped by his reverse acrobatic shot. Chauncey Billups pass to Tayshaun Prince on a fastbreak is also a big one for USA, they don't play selfish basketball in the FIBA Qualifiers.

Next stop, Virgin Islands.

i was impressed by what kobe showed in his game against venezuela..he was so aggressive in defense and he was a team player..he's showing maturity and leadership...that's a good thing... :mrgreen:

the real challenge is yet to come, in their group it seems only Brazil can pose a real challenge, while in the other group you have Argentina and Puerto Rico, two teams that has since beaten a US Team of NBA stars

Hmm.. Brazil. I'd expect USA to gang up Leandro Barbosa. They'll surely be throwing a bunch of defenders on the "Blur". Kobe-Barbosa, Kidd-Barbosa, LeBron-Barbosa and even Tayshuan Prince-Barbosa match-ups. Yet still a tough match for their big men even Brazil doesn't have Anderson Varejao, Tiago Splitter contibutes big time for Brazil.

kaya nga...Brazil has not won a game against a team of NBA Stars..the closest they got was a 3 point loss in a friendly match in Japan a few years back before the last World Championships..Brazil is no way near the caliber of the Argentinian National squad

Statistically and realistically, wa gihapon match ang Brazil against USA. USA is too much for other teams in this tournament especially now that they're starting to play team basketball. Leandro Barbosa is the only player in the Brazil line-up who can give USA a good challenge. Tiago Splitter and Nene for sure will be having a hard time against any combination of USA's big men. If ever Brazil can catch up with USA, there's Kobe Bryant who can take over the game. :mrgreen:

that's always how he plays....his current style of play w/ the lakers is being overshadowed his real capability in playing basketball since he has to carry a big load...which makes him more aggresive in his offensive skillset..defensively it's already given he has been to several All-NBA 1st team defensive teams....
