    akshully, tikalon and butigon mean the same... go check a hiligaynon dictionary.

    hellooo.... just happen to browse, naa d i forum pra sa mga ilonggo here in ISTORYA... yehey!!! dats really gud to know hehehe

    i'm from bacolod! been working here in cebu for a year na! I'm really learning bisaya from my officemates... funny jd from the beginnig ky mglisod ko sulti, even though i understand a little bisaya back then.... pirme na lang ko kadlaw pra indi mabal-an nga wala ka naka-intindi kung may mg-istorya sa akun ...hahahaha

    so far there are some bisaya words that i don't understand, i just ask my officemates if what's the meaning....

    kaplog --> burikat
    dyutay --> gamay
    gamay --> gamay
    pungko --> lingkod
    pungko --> pungko

    this is Caray-a...dialect of the province.

    They say that Caray-a is the original hiligaynon---the native tongue of the Ilonggos. The one, now referred as Hiligaynon (spoken in the city and nearby towns as well as in Bacolod City) is bastardized Caray-a invented by Chinese elitist... actually i only heard this from someone. I think it does make some sense.
