Beastie Boys are bunch of punk rockers who now known as hiphop artists yet still play jazz every now and then. Their latest album of jazz instrumentals is currently on National Bookstore for only 430 pesos

i'm not impressed that you listen to jazz because i don't think you know what your'e talking about. your'e too close minded to claim to be a music lover. ur a poser. music is art and art has no boundaries. you can't put art in a box and claim that this is the perfect form and all else is mediocre.

and FYI, picasso's art was considered mediocre as well as elvis songs when he first came out.
i bet he don't like elvis either hehehe

your right. real art has no boundaries and those artists he mentioned like Vinnie Coulota don't share the same opinion as his. Vinnie played with Herbie Hancock as well as Faith Hill and when Dave Mustaine loses all his back up bands Vinne along with Gordon Kennedy and Jimmie Lee Sloas, two of Nashville's top session musicians mostly on Christian and Country genre, became MEGADETH for a while particulary in the album The System Had Failed.

Your comments about rock music reveal more about you than it does about rock music.

What happened? Unsa namay nasulod sa atong generation karon? naa pay HALE nga kapila gibalik balik sa radio station hangtod mawingig nalang og cgeg paminaw sa boring og puol nga music! naa pay simple plan og green day nga paka arong ingnon kuno nga Punk pero layo na kaayo sa original nga punk! Ambot wala nako kasabot sa mga utok sa mga taw karon... i think this is one reason why our country Philippines same as USA, is slowly going down! Going to the trash bin because of our idiocy and mediocrity! So lame and stupid kinda music! Musically and lyrically!!!

We need music that would go from generation to generation. Kanang dili muloma kanang dili moluod kanang mo last for many many years. We need artist that could feed everyone's soul and enligten and strengthen their hearts. We need music that could cultivate ourselves as an artist. And we need music that lyrically has sense! Most of our music nowadays have the same kinda topics and lyrics and sometimes stupid! What happened?

richard79 I know you have a point pero ayaw lang pag trash-talk dayon. How can you convince other people to do your bidding if your bashing gets in the way? I'm not saying na fan ko sa Cueshe, Hale, Simple Plan, Greenday, etc. pero treat it na lang as a stepping stone to higher forms of music appreciation. Yes kids (and adolescents) today dig those kinds of music but it doesn't mean man pod na hangtod diha na lang jud sila mopilit. Ako before nagapaminaw man ko og rock (punk, progressive, etc.) and from that I learned how to appreciate more complex genres like Jazz and funk. Yes it's true na simple ra kaayo nga mga kanta ang gusto sa mga tao ron (though dili man jud tanan) og ang uban sabay-sabay lang sa uso. Pero I tell you na siguro one day they will, too, learn how to appreciate music of much complexity.

Right now I'm listening to Travis, Jamiroquai, Jazzanova, Jamie Cullum, Brand New Heavies. Those are very talented musicians and I hope that more people will dig them too.

And by the way ganahan pod kog music na saba pero gipatuluan jud og singot para macompose (e.g. Filter)
