How to become a good programmer?

if you have the stiff determination to become a good programmer then study and apply what you have learned. for all you know, i'm not a programmer but in the process of being one. hehe

first is u must have a good background in programming because there are lots of languages in programming but the logic is still the same, they only differ in syntax and implementation. after you have the basics preferably C, practice practice practice and learn new styles from other programmers. join forums on the certain language u prefer would also help...

Attending Seminars.
Joining Professional Organization.
Making friends with programmers better than yourself.
Self-Study

You teacher is quiet right with that, and more with the last, Self-Study.
Do not try to learn from books, you will just copy what other write already and wont learn it.
The way to learn is to figure things out by yourself.
Get a programming language and start. Set a target (something simple, like printing text on the screen).
Your best friend is the help system, integrated in the ide.
It might take a while, but you will be able to write what you wanted.
You will learn the syntax automatically over time, don't worry.
The most difficult part is to set a target ("What shall I try to write?").

why dont you start learning turbo C or C++ for basic..try sovle algorithm and try program tracing.

para mka learn gyud ka, know how to use syntaxs language, u study; if statement conditions, looping,
case syntaxes etc..!!
im sure mka learn nka programming and u can go now further programming tools and applications like VB,C#
VB.net and others application base.
Ayaw sa surecat kay mag lisod naka sabot hehehe u should now how to solve algorithms first hehehe :-p..!!

Lazy Programmers are Good Programmers.... hehehehehehe.....
Which also means, term "lazy" that a programmer do wise things in his codes. He use re-usable codes, preventing redundant codes. Always find a way to make his scripts better.

The Smaller and Effective codes, the Better.

You don't have to memorize all codes, it's all about how to use the codes as long as you have the resources or complete list of Functions and Libraries.

Programmer... not by asking too much, but by DOING it.
Download the free turbo delphi and just start.
And note that programming means solving of problems, and learning for lifetime (even I am still learning, after 25 years programming).
If you surrender after 3 tries to fix your program, find another job/hobby.
Keep in mind, "What other can do, I can do too".

its not just by "practice lng" ........ practise the right way/style/method/etc. and make sure of it :mrgreen:......dnt practice the wrong ones..... REad more than complaining......try to always use ur mind.
