"Okay guys, I got a P770 unit, bought it from the seller in the other site, I just got home to fully play with it so here goes:

Initial review: (Each out of 5)

APPS - This will depend on how familiar you are with flashing and rooting procedures, had no problem since rooted na sya initially, I replaced some of the apps which have Chinese apps. (running fine so far). 4

BATTERY LIFE - I honestly got this because of the promised battery life, I still haven't done a full battery calibration although the phone is holding up to it's promise of being durable in terms of power. A plus for me, 5

SPEED - The speed is good, having the 1.2Ghz processor helps, although coming from a Galaxy S2, I can say that the S2 is faster, hands down. There might be some barely noticeable lags when opening an applicaiton, although this might just be due to the higher resolution screen. 4

CAMERA - The 5 megapixel camera at the back is superb, giving clear and bright shots, even with only one LED flash and just having 5 megapixels. The downside is that the VGA camera at the front is horrendous. I'm not sure if it's just my unit, but forget about using the front camera in low-light conditions, you'll be hard-pressed to see anything. FRONT Cam - 1, BACK - 4

SCREEN - Coming from an Super Amoled+ Screen, the IPS screen of Lenovo p770 pales in comparison, and I mean that in a literal sense. The plus side is that you have a higher resolution screen to play with, and with the near limitless amount of battery, you can afford to just leave it at the automatic brightness setting and not even care. 4

SOUND - The speaker is located at the bottom, and the sound coming from it is good, I had no problems with any stuttering, or "tunog lata" even when of full volume. I'm not much of an audiophile, so it's good enough for me. The speaker is even better (in my opinion) than my S2. 5

HARDWARE - the phone is a bit heavy, although I'm not complaining. It has a good feel on the hands, doesn't feel like a toy. it's good, the only downside is the lack of the Camera shutter button, which I think should've been added, since there's a lot of space on the sides for a small button. 4

That's it for now, I'll update this after a few days once I break-in my phone unit. "

I hope this helps us give an idea what is the actual performance from the user.

I for one am planning to buy this phone. I am currently using a Lenovo P700i. I am satisfied with the Lenovo phones. Have used a Lenovo A336, Lenovo P700 and now P700i and I am satisfied with their performace. Hope Lenovo also release their new products and even accessories at a faster pace. Thank you.
Another new update from the same user. Here it is:

    jinthan on February 08, 2013 11:11 PM

"Here's the update on the Lenovo P770 after the burn-in test for 3 days (Note that this is just an single unit, other user's experience may be different from mine).

I also won't be able to give screenshots, since I had already sold the phone.

So far, after 3 days, I'll start with the battery life:

BATTERY - This is the main draw of the phone, having the 3,500mah makes us forget the other lackluster specs that this phone had to offer. (e.g. 5mp camera, VGA camera, etc..). The phone definitely has the beefiest battery compared to all the android phones that I've handled. Take this for example: a full-blown browsing/gaming marathon, with no screen off time, 3G always on (even on areas with poor signal), screen brightness to auto/50% or even 100% - doing even this would take you between 9 to 12 hours before the battery is drained. In comparison, most phones will conk out by 3 to 4 hours with the same heavy usage (don't argue guys, this is without undervolting and clock modification). We do know by now that the biggest battery hogs are the screen and 3G. This phone lets you take those two for granted. For those who want to buy this phone because of the battery. Stop reading, this phone is for you. If not, get a dumbphone.

SCREEN - For guys used to Super AMOLED displays, this takes some getting used to, but once I've handled the phone for a few hours, the colors seemed to be more correct than those with super amoleds, albeit less bright, but that's on how you'll manage your brightness levels. The resolution is also a plus, can't say anything that would mark as a negative on the screen. It's good enough, since you won't even care how bright you'll leave your screen on due to battery life issues.

PERFORMANCE - For the most part, the phone is snappy, smooth, and responsive. It's only on the heavier tasks that would leave the phone stuttering, I take it that this is due to the older GPU that's used on the unit. Some movies would stutter (I'm looking at you MKV formats), some noticeable lags during screen transitions (you can't even go to developers options to disable or minimize the animation to 0.5). Checking on the CPU Spy while on the Chinese ROM shows that the CPU states mostly play around the 1000mhz and below, the 1200mhz clock rate seems to be under-utilized even if the phone is on Ondemand Governor. Other than that, the phone plays smoothly, I can even play monster hunter, need for speed hot pursuit and other 3D games without problem, although with a bit longer loading time compared to, say a Galaxy S2.

CAMERA - I'll stand by what I said before, Back Camera is good, despite it being only 5MP, Front Camera is horridly dim. but given enough lighting, works out well enough. I'm sorry to say I can't provide any shots for you guys, Although some people who already have the phone could give us pictures here.

BUILD QUALITY - Again, I'll say that the build quality is good, although once you'll be noticing the plasticky back cover when you grip it on it's sides, the sides sometimes makes some plasticky noise when you press against them. Not that it bothers me, but it may bother some O.C. people out there who wants an uber tightly-knit phone.

SOFTWARE - Some people asks me why I sold the phone off, for one, It's not an app/rom/software issue. I already flashed the phone on an English firmware, totally removing the chinese apps and installing the Google Apps and Services at the same time, basically it's now near or the same as the one that will be released here in the Philippines on God knows when. (BTW, if anybody who already bought their phones and are still stuck on Chinese Firmware, I can flash the English firmware for you guys for a price Or you can go to Vonmills/MV here <click here for link> to have your units flashed with the international rom He's the one who sold me the unit.) The main reason why I sold off the phone is due to:

Speakers/MIC/Headphone/Jack - First of all, this is not a bashing, I'm just saying this to inform you guys on what is in the phone that I've experienced.

    - Let's start with the Built-in Microphone - The microphone reportedly have noise cancelling feature, but it doesn't seem that way what I make a call on 3G, the other party hears some static while we're on the phone, not enough to disrupt the whole conversation, just parts of it. Call quality on 2G seems to be okay, since there's an option in phone settings to utilize the noise canceling feature.

    - Speakers - Well, as I've said before, speakers are great. I'm not an audiophile, it's good enough for me. End of discussion

    - Headset/Jack - We all know the headsets are crap. It's the Headphone Jack that I want to talk about. The headphone jack on the P770 is an OMTP standard, as opposed to the more common CTIA Standard nowadays. Just a brief overview on their differences, the OMTP standard were previously adopted by Nokia and Sony-Ericsson on their older units. (you may notice some of the old nokia headsets don't work properly on newer phones) CTIA Standard is what is now being adopted by most manufacturers due to the IPhone's popularity (IPhone uses CTIA standard). The OMTP-CTIA difference will only be noticeable when you use a headset with a microphone, since their main difference is how the last two contacts on the jack align. If you're using a normal headphone (Without mic), you won't notice the difference. You'll still get clear audio using the P770

    - For me, the last parts were the dealbreaker, since I mostly use the phone for 3G calls and it's a hassle to find an OMTP to CTIA converter plug just for this phone (they're rare in the philippines).

For those who don't care about the last parts, this phone is worth buying!"

Hope this updated review helps. I for one would be buying this phone. Thank you.

Another thing is the warranty. To be fair with the seller, it would be the discretion of the buyer to buy a international english version or one coming from China but its Rom changed to English.

Mas comfortable ko sa official release.

What I have experienced when I purchased my Lenovo P700i, nagka problema ang unit like there was a dot on the screen and ang iya functions like touch dili kaayu siya responsive. When I complained it to the store where I bought it, ila ko giilisan lain unit kay sa within 7 days pa returned ako unit. So that is why I would rather wait for the official Philippine release for the Lenovo P770.

For me if it is more the P15K, I won't buy it kay it is quite expensive na and I can buy other unit with a bit higher specs but I will add a little more na.

If it would cost between P12K to P13K, it would be a good buy for me. Thanks
