heheheh,., ingon atuon ra pag - start.. for layman's term ra man pod toh,., then,. to understand each syntax better.. do a research na lang pod,. tizag and w3schools are my teachers during first year.. May you all have a great day..![]()
First is to choose your IDE I would recommend notepad++ for easy debugging kung gahi2x ka plain notepad will suffice.
For starters and I mean kadtong wala pay knowledge. Start learning HTML4. Like what the others said go to w3schools for better tutorials. Just familiarizing the tags will be enough no need to memorize it all. Then after you can learn CSS2. Still do the same just cover up what you can. Then from there on you can further enhance by going to other sites that gives advance tutorials.
For CSS you need to at least know the BOX model. You can google it.
another thing the biggest problems for CSS authors is the browser called INTERNET EXPLORER!!! its every developers nightmare. I'm still having problems even with javascript.

Internet Explorer was a headache before. Daghan kang oras nga nausik para lang mapadisplay imong website sa EI. I usually skip testing my clients' website to the older version of Internet Explorer. The newer version however is acceptable.
maayo nakaayo si TS ron! apply na ni og web dev ugma
depends on how you declare/implement the code sir, in my experience i always prefer IE7 as my unit testing yet when i test my site to other browser it works fine raman..IE7 is very strict in coding standard unlike sa latest browser karun, though we have this what we call CSS hack yet i still prefer standard coding..
during the time i started doing html work (not professionally) the best browser is Netscape then there is this IE5, then came IE6, wayback 2008 im still doing multi-IE debugging, its not actually hard you just have to use css conditional comment gi implement ni siya sa IE! dili rasad kay IE ang problema hasta ang opera hassle sad specially katong mga old version nila...
now a days maihap lang mga major browser depende sa target country sa mga user, Gecko, Webkit/KHTML, Presto and Trident, you need style around the layout engine and versions and not the browser brand itself..
for example, ang mas ni adopt jud sa css3 kay ang Gecko and Webkit, where as ang presto and trident naa pay issue or not fully supported it.

Start Here: 30 Days to Learn HTML & CSS (Day 1: Your First Webpage (30 Days to Learn HTML & CSS) - YouTube)
This is a great tutorial conducted by Jeffrey Way of Envato.com (Manager of Themeforest.net and Web development tutorials, from beginner to advanced | Nettuts+). You can really learn a lot from his revolutionary way of teaching.
Nowadays also you can use online code sharing sites such as Create a new Fiddle - jsFiddle and Pens picked by the Editors of CodePen. You can create free accounts on these sites, you can test your own code and see the results on the fly, and you can learn also on the code shared by other members.
