grabeha sa?!yabag gihapon...saon nalang....so what you think is right practice?
Here's what I wrote above. I think it's the best way to teach hearing.Originally Posted by YbriP
Perfect pitch CAN be taught and can just as easily be learned. There are a lot of methods.
The easiest way to teach hearing is by playing a melody, then letting the student sing it. Then, when the student gets the melody right, ask the student to play it from memory.
The point of the exercise is teaching the student to "see" music and identify the differences between notes. There are only 12 notes in western music, so I don't think it'll take that long to teach the basics of music.
Mao sab lagi... Berklee na gud na ang nag tudlo sa akong bass player. I don't think there's any finer school who teaches contemporary music better than Berklee.. (Julliard in NY if it's for classical). Cum Laude akong bass player so that means he got straight A's in all of his classes.. no matter how good he did on that class, gamay ra gihapon ang nahimo kay sometimes mayabag lang gihapon siya.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
determination...desire...patience...open-mindedness...a good philosophy on music...persistence..nice practice habits...resourcefulness...etc
one thing great about music is that you can never say that you're good enough. there are no standards in greatness. yet we do have our own standards right? for me a good musician is someone who simply loves music and puts his whole being in what he's playing....
Actually, in Rock Music, there are standards of greatness. In Rock, these icons are the standards by which skill is based. Those who fall below are merely followers, and those who go beyond are merely imitators.Originally Posted by porbista
VOCALS - Elvis Presley. There's a reason he's called the King. For good or bad, he embodies what Rock and Roll is.
GUITAR - there have been technically better players who came before and after him, but no one merged artistry and virtuosity in such a flamboyant package. He is rock's ONLY guitar icon and he's influenced not only people in Rock, but also in Jazz, Classical and Hip-hop.
BASS - Paul McCartney. He's not the best bassist, but he's made more money and been chased by more girls than all of the bassists in history combined. And, he's not a bad songwriter.
DRUMS - John Bonham. Ask any drummer who knows what he's talking about. John Bonham is a Drum God. Say his name to any good drummer and he'll tell you his favorite Bonham piece. He combined the smartness of jazz with the power of rock.
PIANO - Little Richard. He is the originator, he is the emancipator; he is THE KING and QUEEN. He is the architect of rock and roll.
One can be a musician but not necessarily an artist... there is a big difference... perfecting the technical aspect is not enough... there has always been FEEL... i rarely see cebuano musicians with that characteristic....
knowing the technical aspect isn't a guarantee that u'll make the "perfect song"!!! although its a big step forward... i'd like to believe that technical dumdums such as myself, can produce good music...
peace out..
a good musician is someone who:
demonstrates open-mindedness
is a team player
does not have a bloated ego
and also a good musician loves a sound/beat/tune without being influenced to love it.
