it's considered politically incorrect, and it evolved into something of a pejorative. It had nothing to do with a country's economic development. As for the Philippines, we fall under the division global south. It was poised since 2005 to become a newly-industrialized country, and it should have become one last year.

anyway, it's a culture thing, mao na ang problema... and it's not something that can be changed overnight... not even years.. probably decades pa siguro kay it's a very slow and painful process (to change the filipino culture)... i would love to live another hundred years and see if the filipino culture has changed already...

on the bright side, the philippines is not so bad, NIC na gud kuno ta... and besides, comparing to some other countries in the horn of africa, definitely WE are like ten times luckier...

Mura man ug sa news man siguro karon, nag state nga ang Pilipinas entered into the Creditor Countries Club .. kay nag pa lend na kuno ang pinas karon sa mga economically troubled countries in Europe .. I hope this is true. I hope dili ipanghambog ni sa present administration .. kay dili sila ang naghimo ani .. nag ani ra sila sa performance sa nauna nilang administration.
