The Osmenas may or may not have served Cebu well, but at this point, let them rest na. Yong mga bagong henerasyon naman. If possible yong hindi kabilang ng mga traditional political families (I know this is difficult to wish for), those with fresh ideas and enthusiastic to work and serve, not heavily burdened by old political baggage. :mrgreen:

Like wine, the older the better. Why go for the untested and inexperienced? What old political baggage? All of them are traditional. Dont you think Gwen is new.

She is a product of tradpol, her father beign the former governor. Plus she is connected to another tradpol family, the Codillas.

So spare us the political baggage thing.

I'm not talking simply about the Osmenas and the Garcias. It goes beyond that. I just wish that voters would be mature enough to go not just for the names but the competence and integrity of candidates, who may not necessarily belong to political dynasties which have ruled cebu and many other provinces for too long now. The proliferation of these few dynasties, which controls not just our political life but economic and social as well, is a major factor of our stagnation as a nation. On the other hand, we should also not go to the other extreme, we should strike a balance, since the opposing ideology is also full of risks.
