I think it's a default in your OS, Microsoft Windows.

XP = Microsoft Sam
7 & Vista = Microsoft Anna

To verify, go to control panel, the viewing by default is in category, press the drop down "select small icons", then choose the Speech Recognition, in your left panel select Text to Speech menu. A Pop up will appear then select, Text to Speech in your Tab, Under Voice Selection there's a dropdown menu with only one option, Microsoft Anna [I'm using Windows 7], if you have a headset or speakers, press the Preview Voice button.
