Equipment - another word like furniture that is used both for plural and singular. It is therefore not right to pluralize the word by adding an 's'.
The word Equipment itself refers to a set of tools. A Backhoe for instance is an earth moving equipment. It comprises of different sets of tools like an engine, brakes, arms, buckets, etc. If you have several Backhoes, they are still equipment, NOT equipments.
