The van allen belt were there for years before. But they down played its effects so that they can fool the world. they made us think that the van allen belt has little effects on humans. The space shuttle project proved them wrong. thats why they have to kill those researchers on board. To keep them from exposing the real danger the van allen belt pose to the astronauts passing it.
