Hasn't anyone noticed how ridiculous this setup is?

I mean okay, let's say I've been given the chance to sell my soul to the devil in return for one wish, what would that one wish be?

ANSWER: That the devil won't exist.

The paradox--how can he "buy my soul" at the moment the transaction is completed, when at the exact moment the transaction is made, he already won't exist? And how can he even start granting the wish the moment the transaction is made, when at that moment, he will disappear in a blink of an eye, never to return? And finally, the perhaps biggest paradox is, how can he claim that he can grant ANY wish I make, if he hesitates and says he cannot grant my wish, because it would mean his immediate disappearance?

Not if he doesn't know your wish yet and a contract/deal was already made, and after having that agreement the power was already vested unto your words all you have to do is utter those words.

That is if it's powerful enough to make the devil disappear, and if the devil is too dumb to do it.
