that is why ingon ko sobra pa sa tuyok....

because suppliers gives 30-60 days term.... so when you pay by credit card and as you said wait for the bank to pay... you can still turn around the money..... because there are more days left...

it is only right that appliance store gives discount...... because the suppliers are more than willing to wait for 60 days to get paid....

so the retailer can use the money for 60 days..... and the supplier won't mind....

so if you say for credit card purchase mas lugi ang appliance store........

i think that's not the entire story..........

kay 30-60 days supplier's terms..... can let you turn aroung the money also....... it doesn't mean if you wait for the credit card bank to send the money dili na pud mo ka tuyok

it really is all about how much MORE you want.... the suppliers are giving 30-60 days term.............

The key word is SOBRA pa sa tuyok...

so when complaining about banks getting 5% of the amount for credit card transactions..... i think its not right for appliance stores to say that their profits will be affected....

5% is small compared sa ma tuyok nimo......

30-60 terms from suppliers are industry standards.... so this is more than enought time to turn around your money....

why not give us CONSUMERS a break...... kung sa credit card gamay ang tuyok..... well NAA man gyapon tuyok..... dili parehas sa cash but naa.....

    I agree with this.............

so why give a surcharge to credit cards??

30-60 days terms from suppliers gives enough time to make more profit..... AS you said Tuyok....

My golly dagget I must say you have a way of twisting things around.

If mauna imung arguement(S) which naglibog kog sabot sa imung posts, then why are the appliance stores giving HUGE CASH DISCOUNTS?

and I agree with FD too. This is DTIs fault, they shouldve done more research, dapat ang bank mu remove or mu lower sa charges. I wouldnt mind paying 1-2% times all the establishment transactions a day, thats huge!!!

    simple ra

    Why cash discounts

because they can use the money (TUYOk as you said) many times since 30-60 days is sitll far away......

Giving discount is just small........... they can recover the discount in 60 days or less...

if you want a long explanation i can post it here...

if i am twisting around i think your statement that:

Banks get 5% of the transacted amount......... and you need to pass it on the consumers.... and that you have to wait to receive the money from credit card transactions.... its NOT THE ENTIRE STORY...

    The truth is:

Suppliers give 30-60 days terms...... meaning you don't pay the supplier unitl after 60 days.... so to make the story short... you can use the money for 60 days and earn some more.....

so why not give CONSUMERS a break and don't give us SURCHARGES when a credit card is used....... you have ample time (60 days) to TUYOK( as you said) that money...... and surely you can recover that 5%

Also suppliers give discounts..... which is more than enought to offset the credit card's 5% take....

As to the question why CASH discounts....

    example:

    REfrigerator retails at 100,000.00

Buying it for cash is 90,000.00

i have 90,000.00 and i don't need to pay the supplier for 60 days....

I can use the 90,0000 to buy other items and still after 60 days....... i can earn more..... even more than 100,000.00

If you go by credit card its the same thing....

only you have less than 60 days....... lets say 45 days to TUYOK the money....

ang problem is we always want cash.... kay mag daghan ma tuyok... so for Credit cards... there is a surcharge... to make it like a cash purschase (minus the 5% for the credit card)

    One way of putting it:

Passing on to the consumers.... even though they still can make money from credit card purchases...

    Thats exactly my point bitaw!

    and I quote myslf:

"Giving cash discounts is regular in any business even with most appliance stores mas barato gyud kong cash, not only tungud sa bank surcharges but also because ang the establishment can get cash right away and matuyuk dayun ang money unlike sa credit nga they have to wait for bank to release money."

So what is your point of arguement?

    Additional question:

Since you are saying that they are giving CONSUMERS A BREAK by not letting them pay surcharges thats why they give huge cash discounts, does that mean you agree na nga sayop gyud ang bank for charging surcharges and this DTI thing is a mistake?

    my point is

You can tuyok and MONEY wether you are PAID CASH or CREDIT CARD...

because there is a 30-60 days term from suppliers....

so the ENTIRE PICTURE is............. BOTH CASH and CREDIT CARD allows a seller to earn.... there is TIME to TUYOK the money.....

so telling us na CREDIT CARD get 5% of the amount is not the ENTIRE PICTURE....

You should also consider that as a retailer.... the SUPPLIERS are GENEROUS... they don't ask for their money in 1 day.... BUT they give 30-60 days... and some even give 90 days TERM...
