Nothing happens... the act of drinking already disrupts the water molecules and releases the trapped carbon dioxide. That's why you burp.

we were already doing this back in 1984 during our elementary days. we mixed sky mint with pepsi and the soda will rise into foam and squirt up in the air. it did not blow up though probably pepsi and sky mint are not potent enough compared to mentos and coke but the same theory applies.
