Default Re: Business Opportunity or Educational Degree?

i think mga artista right now gets wiser than before. some invests in businesses, some goes back to school to get a degree.

sharon cuneta in fact took a degree in Harvard(correct me if im mistaken).

remember, life has its ups and downs, daku risk sa negosyo kung wla ka degree to fallback on.
if you have a business, then it's loosing(God forbids), a good degree could be the best you can rely.

kung wla ka degree, and u just lost your business, i don't know what's your next move, siguro, raise another capital.

Default Business Opportunity or Educational Degree?

cool story pitsay and really there are so many inspiring cases like that.. But really dnhoel you'll quit school to get 'financial literacy'? If that's the caseÂ* then where will you get the literacy to understand the financials?

boylabo_17 i suggest while you're studyin try to learn your father's biz.. Continue your education but if its not that inclined to your biz you may want to rethink what you should be studyin.. Nyways it all boils down to what you want.. the biz or the profession that ur course will take u to..Â*

Default Business Opportunity or Educational Degree?

right gloryhunter i think dnhoel has read rich dad poor dad.. Rich dad did not really advise to quit school because he himself knows that it is important, it was just some form of speech..

@gloryhunter: "Robert Kiyosaki is in USA by the way and his book is not applicable for the people who live in 3rd world country." -you never know

Nobody can also blame politicians, it's a different game out there and right we have a diff culture here..

btw, there is a greater chance of failure and rejection if you don't study.. you just have to choose what you should study.. there are institutions/schools/games everywhere that teach financial literacy.. You just have to open your eyes

Para nako depende sa business. if ang business nga dako gani. why not manage nalang. Or if madala ra og hire og taw then pwede samtang u take ur course. Kay naa may taw bisan wala kahuman skwela successful man sa business then u can take mga short term course later nalang

IMO, education comes first before starting a business. Use the time when you're still in school to learn as much as you can to prepare yourself in the future. Read, read and read as much as you can. Learn from people who were successful and study their mistakes and failures. By the time you finish schooling, you can establish your desired business using the knowledge you gained.

There are a lot of things you need to learn when doing business and it is where education would help you.

We might have heard of very successful people making it so big after dropping out of school or not even having formal education.
But let's come to think about it, how is the success rate? Out of 100 OSY, how many made it so big in life or at least achieved a good life?
Not unless if you're as brilliant as Bill Gates nor has the business acumen of Henry Sy, I think the chances would be so slim.
If professionals right now are striving so hard and are even having a hard time making ends meet, how much more for an ordinary person without a degree?
Do the math, numbers and statistics never lie. Majority of people without degrees never go far in life.
