one thing about macs i love is their displays, without calibration its pretty much true to color, compared to desktop monitors of PCs. ive tried editing on an imac, and its big, the display is huge and alot of screen real estate.

getting used to short cuts is a hassle at first, since macs use option key and pcs the cntrl key. not much of a difference..

although the screen is bigger its still pretty much the same, having multiple windows open is like a deck of cards for the mac while the PC has it spread out, you can hover your mouse over the taskbar in the pc and it would give you a preview of whats open and you can select. for the mac you need to use the expose to find the one window you want when working with multiple pics and programs.

OT na kaayo ta dah hehehehe

apil lang ko gmay ha, ang feature sa windows nga hover to show the thumbnail view sa imong application kay enabled automatically na..

sa MAC expose its not so naay option ang user not to use it or use it.. i think its the same sa enabled na and not and how windows navigate now kay based na sa MAC features..

Calibrated display? Get a real calibration tool. Mac is no where near the right one if you take into account the ambient light in your workspace.

Specs? With 80k (for example) I can get a much more powerful Laptop and a much more powerful desktop packed with 12gigs of RAM and the latest i7 2600k and ATI or Nvidia *** @ 1gb gddr 5 with a superior AOC lcd monitor. I can play crysis 2, while running a quick encode on a short video I took on my last assignment, switching to my lightroom to find out that it has already finished exported, burned the files to DVD and switch back to Crysis 2 game and not feel a slightest lag. Where's mac at?

Viruses? <-- only noob and careless PC users get infected. Plenty of viruses? It's a consequence resulting from the popularity of the windows OS. Why make viruses for an OS used by the lesser few?

Experience <-- very subjective. I meet people who hate Mac too and this is probably where it will mater most for people. some people love the plug n play feel of Mac. Me, I love tinkering around.

Just don't talk about specs because there's just no way a mac can be better than a PC in terms of specs. That's why the best and most graphics, cpu and ram intensive games can only be found in PC.

For the best overall experience in computing, get a PC. The PC can deliver better hi performance for the same amount of money invested.

about your thread title, is the comparison - mac (book) vs any laptop or a pc within the price range of the mac book?

    Nice discussion here... hehehe

Both systems are great but IMO mas mu labaw jd ang stabiity sa MAC OS compared sa Windows OS...
i been a PC user for years... and a mac users for just a few months and i could really tell the difference...

    -crisps kaayo ang images
    -great colors
    -less restarts (hang-ups)
-No AV to use up lots of your memory resources
-di naka ma hadlok mo paslak ug USB HD or thumb drive... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

What you get when in MAC, is exclusivity. When ur MAC ur MAC... hehehehe

dili mana siya never ending maintainance sir... natural raman tingali sa mga equipment nga mag ka problema

nya kanang upgrade depende raman pud sa taw..
ako pentium 1 nga desktop wala man to upgrade2x.. gamit siya pang encode2x

kanang upgrade2x.. isa pud na sa upside sa non-apple nga computer.. kung maka extra money ka.. naa daghan available parts

ako mga officemates nga MAC user.. kung naa problema ila computer.. most of the time sa MAC helpdesk or sa Apple service center padung

sa non-apple computer... pwede ra mo sangpit sa amigo or silingan nga kahibaw mo ayo ug computer
