You could die in days, weeks, months or years. Nobody knows for sure.... it's an enormous risk and death from radiation poisoning is nasty.

oh kay inig human nin.u ug trabaho ma usab na in.u DNA.HAHAHHAA
probably they will ask you to stop if you've reach maximum doses of radiation. there was a case told to us during a lecture that there was a place in russia years ago that had radiation problem and the nearest response team was days away. also due to lack of hazmat suits, what the authorities did is to "gather" all able-bodied men, gave then a briefing on how to handle that "radiation source" and each man was given only 45 seconds to their task.
even with suits naa gihapon siyay limit depending on the level. probably they will give you a day or 2 not unless you really wanted to die to save humanity then you can stay/work as long as you want.

^^sakto ka sir. just like sa hspital setting. kung naa gani radiation ang patient, tungod sa tambal or procedure, maximum of 40 mins ra jd na dapat mo meet ang nurse niya. in a shift na ha...
but in case of chernobyl disaster, the soviet government treated those who served as expendables. good that japan offered something as compensation.
