i think no need for newer model cars. mine automatically goes to a higher rev (2) for about 30 secs the first time i start it for the day before it normalizes back (a little below 1). then mao pako mupadagan.

Gas Saving Tips That Don’t Actually Work!
Hehehe.. Mao na purpose nga mosaka ang rev sa imo car bro para dali mo-init imo engine. So warm-up jud gihapon as advised
Pero pwede man gihapon if you're in a hurry nga derecho ka padagan but but but maintain a very low rev lang para kung naa man wear and tear imo engine, mas gamay lang
Pero in the end. If you want to save in the long run (and your engine), do as advised, warm up jud...![]()
w8 gamay like 1 min para mo saka ang oil
mao sulti sa akong papa 30+ years experience as a mechanic
you only need to warm up if dli everyday nmo ginagamit like standby for almost month but if say wala kadagan for just a day or two, no need na, anyway mura wla man cguro tawo na nigstart shift to gear dayon for sure it would take 30 sec to a minute before you shift to gear.... I use my truck everyday I only warm up for about a minute to 3 during winter for reason to let the frost melt from my winshield.
with all do respect im not a mechanic but im not against with what youve said a minute is fine I personally would take a minute before I shift to gear after have started my truck, (after nko start still have to put on my seatbelt and check surroundings and also comfortable seating... however since I use it everyday oil or engine is still been lubricated...
