I was given that option as well. The doc said surgery would be the only option. Right now, im a complete ACL tear waiting to happen, as no matter how strong the supporting muscles, the tear will always be there. I opted not to be operated on. But I think the operation will do you good. Good luck on the recovery!

@Razor Sharp- it seems you still do the squats. if i may ask how much weight can you carry on the bars? about me, im still on the medicine mode, so wala pa ko balik sa heavy leg works but at times im tempted to do leg extensions. also, im very much afraid to do the legworks as i see it to be damaging to my knees especially on the future.

im a physical therapist.. first of all have knee diagnosed forst kay if wala ta kabalo sa underlying problem physical therapy might make it worse... if kabalo naka sa problem then pwede na maka himu ug decision on what management ang buhaton sa imung knee... daghan man gud ug reason behind knee pain... it can be even caused by your immune system commonly known as rheumatoid arthritis... kay if its just injury sauna paman to so murag ayo nana siya dapat.. some home remedies you can do about your knee pain are to do ICING if its inflammed (sa BInisaya PA NAG HUBAG NAG PUWA UG NAG INIT NGA SAKIT) for two days then at the third day use warm compress.... do it for about 20 mins a day.. then every after icing or warm compress, if its an INCOMPLETE tear strengthen your QUADS and HAMS alternately and progressing. try researching how to strengthen them... its pretty much easy. observe knee for a week and i hope you see some changes.

actually ligaments can cure itself a just as long as its not a complete tear. just as long as you try not to use it often e rest ra nimu para ma heal siya. ligaments are the primary stabilizers and the secondary stabilizers are the muscles surrounding the joints. so if weak ang primary, then its good to strengthen the secondary as a compensation sa weakness sa primary and at the same time doing warm compress to facilitate bloodflow and promote healing. and resting it too. :P just dont expect to heal fast because it has only very low blood supply so longer healing time.

some assistive devices are CANE.. and as a RULE... REMEMBER to always put the CANE on the OPPOSITE SIDE to where the injury is. so if the knee pain is on the RIGHT, the CANE is on the left. using uch devices helps facilitate faster healing kay maka rest man siya ma unload ang weight sa problematic side

actually you can do some TESTS to know what tear is possibly present and to what extent but MRI is always best

yep... cold compress is used to REDUCE the inflammation and HEAT is used to reduce the pain but as a rule, never apply HOT compress to an inflammed area because ang inflammation is also HOT so applying wamr or HOt compress makes it worse.. if inflamed or NIHUBAG then cold and later on when inflammation subsides or inflammation is gone (about mga two days jud kasagaran after icing) then its time to apply hot or warm compress to reduce the pain and facilitate healing

    Good for you BRO
