well im still using my nforce to with a 6800nu right now but allmy parts for my new one are here they got here last week but im still putting it to gether should be done in about anohter week or 2 since im busy voiding all there waranty now haha
heres my specs you might want to look them up did around 3 months of research before i ordered:
-dfi-nforce 4 sli-dr
-amd 64 3500 venice core (id recomend one of the sandiego was gona get the 3700 but they were there yet when my parts were about to ship so had to compromise)
-xp-90(consider the xp-120)
-1gig (2X512) OCZ pc4000 2-2-2-8 ( also cosider pc5000 not as tight but higher speeds reached)
-2Xleadtek 6600GT got it on sale at newegg for below $160 each(with your budget get 2 6800GT's by bfg the OC one)
-2X WD 36GB raptor ( gona raid 0 this)(look into a pair the 74gb raptors or a quadro of the hitachi sata II theyr really cheap in newegg also)
-3XWD sata 250GB (a good mix would be 2 74raptors for your OS on raid 0 plus 4 of the hitachi sata II's for everything else)
-2PSU's 1 antec 480 and a generic 350 (i suggest the pc power and cooling brand psu there preaty expensive but there sli certified check out the nvidia sli website for recomendations any of the 4 on the list is good i was gonna get the silverstone but couldnt wait any longer so just grabed the antec from arctech)
-hauppauge 150mce (wanted the 500mce but was off my budget already and wasnt really a necesity)
-Dell 20" wide LCD gona order another one probably when i get this beast running okey and get to sell my old setupwas using 2 17" up to a few weeks ago and i miss my dual monitor setup even with the increase screen size the one 20" doesn not make up for the duals
let me know if you consider these baby's coz ill show you how to get them really cheap, even less that those cheap prices at theire website
call me mr bargain hunter
-housed all this in a cm stacker from arctech that i took apart, powder coated and cromed parts offalso got the crossflow fan and one more 4in3 rack from newegg. i was posting a work log at the arctech forums as i did 2 years ago before it went down
ill post pics here tho when im done
well i dont think i missed anything as u said researched all those for around 3 months and seemed to be the best bang for the buck and if you remember last time we had a preaty similar setup that im asuming you researched toopeace
