IMHO, 5.1 only gives you positional and surround effects. it has nothing to do with improvement in music quality which is what im after.

sound card improves music quality - that is what im after
5.1 gives you surround & positional effects - that is not what im after

what im saying is, if the sound card is true to what it claims to do which is improve sound quality, then ma 5.1 pa na or 2.1 pa na imo gamit speakers, it would still improve the sound quality.

where did you buy your cards? and tagpila? ga lisod mangudko pangita ani pud. yup, i think you are right, dili nalang ko aning fatal1ty edition coz ang endorsement ani maoy naka pa dugang mahal sa price with almost the same features.

@whoopz, if sound quality imo after bai, 2.1 na lang pero kato bagtik na 2.1
nakadungog gyud ko sa bose ni jhnpl, og focal ni jojo bai, pirti ka nindot og crystal clear ang sounds
layo ra ng mga 5.1 speakers nga uban, hehehe
naa man sad lower price nga nindot og sound quality sa altec lansing, og creative, naa gane to edifier nga gi consider bang for the buck kaayo nga speaker sa tpc, kalimot lang ko sa model

pero if buying speaker depends sa individual panglasa man gud, so much better e audition gyud ang speaker imo paliton

ako experience sa speakers bro mao jud ni....
- first ever nako was an altec 251 (5.1 ni cya it was decent enuf)
- then i upgraded to altec vs3251 5.1 and it was the best speakers i have ever tried pero bati lang ug nawong unya plastic kaayo itsura and i also realized kalat kaayo ang 5.1
- i bought a second hand atp3, ganahan kaayo ko sa atp3. but in comparison sa vs3251 mas nice ang vs3251
- then i sold my vs3251 and retained my atp3
- then i decided to buy the most expensive 2.1 of altec lansing the mx5021 which cost 11k expecting that it would be the last speakers i would ever buy kay ga expect ko maayo kaayo.
- the mx5021 dissapointed me a lot, dinhi nako na learn nga THE MOST EXPENSIVE DOES NOT MEAN THE BEST. heck, my atp3 sounded better than this darn thing (or maybe it is just a preference thing coz many people say maayo kaayo ang mx5021)

by the way, i also have experience listening to altec vs4121... bati-an judko, mas ganahan ko atp3. also naka paminaw pudko ug altec vs4221 it was nice man.

ako reklamo sa atp3 kay di nako ganahan sa iya nawong. i need 2.1 speakers that look nice and sound the same or better than atp3 dayun hopefully with a good soundcard mas mu chada pa quality sa tingog.

if you want good speakers try "bang & olufsen" (ako gi quote kay dli na duha ka company), para nako mas nindot kay sa amo bose na home theater.

Bose is a good speaker for PC however B&W beats bose the only problem is it's cable is the fiber optics type and it doen't have a usb or 3.5mm jack for PC's.

OT: hehehe dat is why dli ko mag HTPC coz mas maayu ang 7.1 home theater systems with 40" LED mas maka balance ug adjust ko sa sounds with the transeiver....

My Father in law is using B&W sound system for his home theater and yes nindot gyud kaau lupig gyud ang bose oi. lupig man gali ang bose sa focal.

Just buy a soundsystem nalang thats fit ur needs. and looks doesn't matter for me, the sound really matters.
