better cage if the cage allows them to move around; make sure the size is big enough; do not cage for more than four hours; have to bring the dog out to exercise; dogs (like little kids) have a lot of energy that need stimulation; walking the dog is great so that they can check their territory; Do not put on a chain because studies have shown the dog can be more aggressive and most bite cases is because the dog is chained; the most human aggressive pit I was asked to rescue in the States was on a chain; all the other pits (more than 200), even fighting pits that were not chained, were not human aggressive at all!
For this first general meeting, better not to bring your pup yet. We are not bringing our dogs so that we can concentrate on how we can get IRO's work started. There will definitely be future events that we want all our doggies to go to...something like "Pet Appreciate Day," "Fun Matches," etc...
Did you accept the invitation for the meeting in FB? Do you know where the location of the meeting is? Salamat jud for all your support and help!
if one or two ra imo dog isulod nalang sa inyo haus at least that way mo strong inyo bonding pero pinakasafe gyud between the two like if ala gyud ka choice i would suggest i cage nalang.
i used to leash my dogs pero ang prob is sometimes ila liog mag ka problem naa mark sa leash and sometimes if hyper imo iro ma injured pa iya liog.
real pet lovers dont consider their animal companions a hobby
it's a part of the family only to a different specie
and if you subject your pets to poor living conditions like getting one w/o thinking over
if your place is suitable or secure enough for keeping pets and not having to subject them to cramped cages and chains. then better think it through
and please dont get pets just because everybody is having one. like the pitbull is "in" and "cool"
so u have to get one yourself. please people think it through
being a petlover simply doenst mean you like to HAVE pets
and just by simply affording one doesnt mean you have to get one.
please!!!!
tnx for the privelege but Im not much of a public speaker. naa ko stage fright and im not really gifted with words.
what just drive me to say these things is that there are those who call themselves "petlovers"
yet to them...pets are more treated like an accessory. or more of a status symbol.
or something they can easily acquire of (to those rich) and easily and mindlessly taken for granted
though not all.
and sorry if I sounded soo preachy. sometimes im just bitter about these things
again sorry
and tnx for the offer
goodluck to you and ur group in promoting responsible dog ownership
more power!!!
ur words are so true.. there are so many people now a days that never care about their pets but uses them only to impress people in a way like show people that they are in because they have this kind of breed or they are rich because they have lots of expensive dogs then worst is imprison their dogs to cramp cages and feed them less food and water.
but for this reason that organization like IRO exist. to rescue dogs that needs rescuing and to educate people and correct them from their mistakes if possible.
i've been doing a lot of rescues for almost 2 years already and i am so happy to know that IRO exist at least now i know i am no longer alone in doing what i do... to care for animals that has been left to die in hunger or thirst.
that is why i will definitely support this organization 100%.
