Mmmm... I think Ive read the replies from the topic. Well good in math is a big help but for me you dont have to be good in math to learn programming. Programming nowadays are getting better and easier to learn? well in own opinion since I became an average web dev, learning programming is something you have to strive on, something you have to put your mind in focus in order to achieve it. In other words programming CAN be learned but not just easy to learn.
I am not good in math thats why I dont easily learn programming but because I strive to learn w/ it and love programming well, it helps me well in learning at all times.
@deathnote
logic is math
the logic that you are using is mathematical logic.. ur just not aware of its technicalities because you did not take up a course in mathematical logic, instead you're just using your common sense..
try picking up a book on mathematical/symbolic logic (first and second degree predicate calculus), you'll be amazed how much your programming skills will improve.. relational database systems (SQL) is based on second degree predicate calculus.. kung wala pa to gi-huna2x ni E.F. Codd, wala tay RDBMS karon..
ang wala ra sa math na naa sa programming are the flow control constructs like if-else and loops.. but the concept of objects, variables, functions, they all come from mathematics..
you don't need to be good at math to do some programming.. but to be good in programming, a good foundation in math is not optional..
You need logic
All you need is to be good in analyzing and solving problems. Programming is nothing else then constantly solving problems...
What I meant with logic in my previous post is not the logic of a > b, its the logic of understanding how things work. This has nothing to do with math.
Question to the users here who posted that you need to be good in math:
- How many years are you a programmer already?
- How many applications did you write already?
@ topic
"math is from womb to tomb" pung pas saying pag elementary![]()
