    Default Saw the place

    Thanks for accommodating me earlier!

I visited the place earlier this evening and the location is a bit...uh...intentional...(medyo tuyo-unon )

Bagay ni siya for people with a car, motorcycle, donkey, flying lemur...kay it's quite a trek if you're on foot.

I hopped on a habal2x (or you can board a jeep or cab) from JY Square and hopped off at Busay Brgy. Hall, which is some 50 meters past Marco Polo hotel. Across the Brgy. Hall is a road going down, so this is a road at the left of the highway, if you're facing away from Lahug.

I followed the road and saw a subdivision gate with a plain-clothes guard at post. I inquired if he knew about a residence renting out rooms. I mentioned the name from the phone call and he recognized it, "Diretso lang, strayta, hangtud kita ka ug lubi sa kilid sa dalan, sa wa'a sa da'an, mao na na ang balay."

I remembered something about a grotto so I asked him about it and he gestured with his hands, "Oo...mao ni ang grotto? Sa kilid ani sa grotto nay'ng gamay agi-anan, mao na diha ang pa-abangan. Akoa diay nang amo."

I thanked him and continued walking, wondering how the coconut tree was more a landmark for him than the grotto.

The road continued sloping down past the gate and I started to worry about the hike on my way back UP. But the road leveled soon enough as the first house emerged. Now I know why it's called Hidden Valley. Then I found the house with the grotto past 2-3 houses.

It's a nice/upscale neighborhood, houses with no fences, parked sports cars, trees all around...quiet...save for crickets, as this was night. But that's nice because it's relaxing. The lady owner was kind enough to entertain me despite knocking during dinner hour. Actually, it was a boy(2x) from next door who called out.

There's a driveway gate at the left serving as the tenant's entrance, you walk through a spacious garage, then up a concrete stairway, onto a terrace, then a door to the room. They appear to be renovating it as there were workers doing some minor fixes as we went in.

The room itself is large, all concrete, some 8x5mm (mata2x...i mean, meters) especially since there were no furniture YET except for a large closet. There's a bed available but it was propped up outside the room at the terrace, drying from fresh paint. The lady said there were other rented units but this room was the only one on the second storey, and adjoined to the main/owner's house. The other occupied rooms were down and further behind the main house. The room has its own toilet/bath tho I wasn't able to check as the carpenters were busy inside...working. There's no nano-kitchen or sink outside of the CR. There's a row of screened windows on one side of the room that I don't think open to a view, just to the fence/wall outside. But it's good to be there for ventilation, I think.

The location has a relaxing, provincial/suburbia vibe to it, with cooler climate of course, being Busay. But I don't think I'm too crazy for the distance and access. If I get myself a scooter or a horse, no problem at all. But I'm a ranger-on-foot at the moment, so...

Anyway, just a short story so others who might want to visit will know how to get there and for those too lazy to get up, and who have to wait for pics...I hope I've described it graphically enough for you.

Sorry I came by on an evening, un-announced, but it was the only time I had, an impulse visit while commuting from IT Park and passing by JY Square, as a matter of fact.

    Cheers!
