Just curious....what are your reasons for wanting to move to Australia? lifestyle? healthcare benefits?
I bet it's not salary.
I think there are still some schools where you can get a nursing degree in just 2 years... and even less if you know who to approach and if you have the money. Even heard before that it's possible to have a TOR which shows you finished the course in 4 years even if you only took it for 2 years. I believe NZ and Australia are aware of this that's why they're now strict. You just can't put a patient's life in the hands of a nurse who lacked formal training.
my suggestion to nurses who are planning to migrate to NZ is to complete the NZ Nursing registration requirements first while still in the Phils. Never go to NZ without getting a letter from the nursing council inviting you to take the CAP. Don't trust the agencies. Some of the nurses can't even register because they can't pass the IELTS exam administered in NZ. It's much more difficult to pass IELTS in NZ than in the Phils. Probably because Filipinos are used to american english accent. In NZ, best is pronounced as "beast". Schedule is "shedule", etc...
