St. Thomas Aquinas sums up the gifts below which are also accepted by the Lutherans and Anglicans. In his Summa Theologica, Aquinas sorts the following correspondences between the 7 Capital Virtues and the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit:
1. The gift of wisdom corresponds to the virtue of charity.
2. The gift of understanding to the virtue of faith.
3. The gift of counsel (right judgment) to the virtue of prudence.
4. The gift of fortitude to the virtue of courage.
5. The gift of knowledge to the virtue of faith.
6. The gift of piety to the virtue of justice.
7. The gift of fear of the Lord to the virtue of hope.
There are gifts that are quite new to me when my brother (who used to be with Singles for Christ)
spoke of the gifts of tongue and holy laughter.
Whatever...the only gift i probably want to have is the gift to accept the gifts of others.
I don't know if I have a gift but I'm sure I have a good appetite...does it count?
