Ahh okay....
True if BJJ, but not all Jiu-Jitsu is on the ground.....
The classic Jiu-Jitsu parts in Villasin Balintawak and the Ju-Jutsu Ryus from Bujinkan (Ninjutsu) has a lot of standing, that can also be used on the ground if needed....
So we dont have to clean the streets with our newest suit or roll around in broken glass on the side walk to defend our self....he he

after sending a reply to manhattan1, I heard a commotion outside our house. It turned out to be our neighbors asking for help since their motorcycle is being dragged by an unknown person. the man was still infront of our house so I asked him to leave the motorcycle and just leave the place. To my surprise the man pushed motorcycle towards our gate and started to attack me...he threw a punch at me, my automatic response was to throw back and it landed straight to his nose. The next thing I knew is that my brother who was standing right beside me at that time was taking this guy down and landed riding the man's back(he is training jui jitsu more often than me). I kicked the guys face many times the pounded him. After that we were told that the guy was'nt really a robber but a retard probably due to prolonged drug abuse...I was sorry for that guy but we have to defend ourselves at that time especially that he is already inside our gate.
Therefore I conclude that it is really good to train as often as we could, since we don't have any clue to when we have to defend ourself or our family. My adrenaline is still pumping until know. hehehe!
