a professional artist. I start and stop, start again and stop again learning to
draw. However, self-studying is a drag because art is learned via examples first
before one can define their unique style.

    My answers:

    1) Hmm what genre of comicbooks are you into anyway?

I like two genres. Erotic and cartoon. For erotic art, I hope to someday (kung
di pa ko mamatay before then) to learn how to draw like Manara or better,
Serpieri. I also like Horacio Altuna.

    For cartoon art, I like Caldwell's http://www.daredetectives.com/. I own
his Action! Cartooning book and I look forward to buying his Fantasy
    Cartooning.

Frustrated fine artist man gud ko. Gi-discourage ko sa akong erpats kuha
Fine Arts kay wa kuno wawarts ani na field. So nag-comp-sci na lang ko.
Kung makadaug ko lotto, undang man ko trabaho ba then balik eskwela
Fine Arts. If I only could turn back the time, ...

    2) . asa ta eskwela ana drawing comics

SuKoLmo teaches manga style drawing for free. I'm not sure if they still
have sessions in Mango Square Mall though. Visit Tyke's comic book store
    and ask.

Ang initial style sa SuKolMo murag Jedi. Naa usa ka master, naa usa ka
apprentice. And the good thing about it is that the master doesn't charge
a fee. They do it for the love of the art. Mag-sinabot lang sa oras ug adlaw
    magkita.

    3) organize ug bag-o club, bai. join ko... http://zerk.deviantart.com/gallery/

Bai, I don't think you need to learn. You need to teach

Plus, you could submit your portfolio to www.glasshousegraphics.com bai.

While I'm a good manager, I'm not artistically skilled. So kung organization
inyo gusto pwede ko katabang ani. Pero the actual course outline should be
defined by the talented artists here (i.e. contour drawing, negative space,
form, rhythm, tonal value, perspective, anatomy, etc.)

I also think we should at least pay the instructor his or her due. I mean
kung 10 ta kabuok, then pitch in ta 50, then naa siya 500 bucks per
session. Unless ganahan dyud siya teach for free.

    --- side note ---

By the way, sa Buy and Sell section I'm selling some art books at discounted prices. Kung musugot mo, ako i-copy there. Huwat lang ko tubag senior member like Senor Joze. I think this is better than buying
new books at National. I also take very good care of my books. You
can ask Messenger, the person who bought my Flash books re the
    condition of my books
bai, I dont think im qualified to teach. your artbooks is a start... but the good ones are available free on the net. google for andrew loomis' book on anatomy. if you got your anatomy pinned you can do any style you want, be it frazettaish, anime, graffiti or jimleeish.

    Default Thanks zerk

    Hi zerk,

How do I upload images here?

    --- Self-study, practice, sketch ---

I guess you're right zerk. There was a time when I did and I did see
some improvement (not awesome mind you but definitely better).
However, I stopped because I am pre-occupied learning Flash MX
    actionscripting -> pang sideline

    --- Andrew Loomis free e-book ---
Yes, I found two of his e-books purely by accident. One on
anatomy and one on heads (from baby to old people).

    --- Another good out-of-stock anatomy e-book ---
Bai, I'm still googling for this one. Have you found it?

Draw from Your Head: A Step-By-Step System for Drawing the Human
    Figure Without a Model
    by Doug Jamieson

    http://www.redskybooks.net/cgi-bin/rsb455/011214.html

    --- pinning down anatomy ---

You're absolutely right too. My tutor said that if one can draw the face
and the body, then one can draw almost anything.

    Cge bai, salamat for replying.

Get an account at www.photobucket.com use the image tag and post it n the messageboard.

oh.. it's alright to trace or copy IMO just give due credit to the person youre copying from. and from there, you can develop your own style. look at bryan hitch, roger cruz and terry dodson. they started out as clones but later in their career became artist in their own right. di ba?

I don't recognize theh names you mentioned but I'll look them up

    --- maiba ako ---

zerk, I wonder what kind of clothes superheroes or supervillains wear? You can
actually see the rips of their muscles. In real life, people have to be in the nude
to show their rips. Even the tightest leotards wouldn't allow us to see rips, only
the main muscle masses. Comic book heroes seemed to have their costumes
body painted on them. He he.

This is the reason why I like Alex Ross's art. Realistic.

bai, if youre interested in comic making .. recommended reading is scott mcdaniel's understanding comcs. i have a copy... you cant find it at national's pero you can try powerbooks. i ordered mine at amazons.

The way i figured out it was out of convenience that superheroes appear that way.. the artist of old must be too lazy to figure out how to draw creases and folds of fabrics.

where everyone can join and not be bad mouthed whenever you're not around...
    i've been there...
    sukol mo was good
