I think this solution is too complicated for you guys to understand. Nevermind.
it is a good advise but the risk of noise on the line is high.. noise from phone line will most likely to enter your internet line since they will be running on the same cat5 wire thus your internet transmission will be distorted and you may get disconnected or lag most of the time. better use a separate telephone wire for your phone.

just a piece of advise, just get your own phone line because having a party line is just too much hassle since you may answer a phone call that is not yours.

yes. i've considered that issue. it doesn't hurt to try. but i don't see why it should be a problem. isn't that the same principle if you have both DSL & Telephone service from GLOBE, etc. You're just using a splitter to separate Voice and Data. I don't see/notice any degradation in both voice and data.
It's also the same principle for Power over Ethernet (PoE).

    Tickling? Don't you mean Tinkering?

Anyhow... yeah you could say it's my sideline. Doing special/challenging projects like yours. hehe.
And there is no splitter for that, it's a customize hack. Involves cutting and soldering wires without affecting your internet connection. Sorry I'm not in Cebu, otherwise I would do that project for you.
