ABS-CBN to investigate allegations of Wowowee winner

Less than a day after PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) published its story about the complaining Wowowee winner, ABS-CBN sent an official statement through its Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio. (Click here to read related article)

The short statement read: "ABS-CBN together with Globe Asiatique is in the process of investigating the claims of Mrs. Nena Santos about the prize she won in Wowowee. We will make sure that Mrs. Santos gets the prize due her as soon as the important details are ironed out.

"To date, Wowowee has given out 19 houses without any problem. This is the first time we are encountering a problem like what Mrs. Santos has raised."

In the article published yesterday, February 25, Santos claimed that the house Globe Asiatique was giving to her was actually a "repossessed" property at Santa Barbara Villas II in San Mateo, Rizal.

She also claimed that the actual price of the prize of the house offered to her only cost P550,000—just half of the P1 million-worth house and lot prize that was promised to her. She planned to get help from the Department of Trade and Industry about this issue.

In the same article, Santos also called the attention of other Wowowee winning contestants who may have the same experience as hers.

Again? Wowowee is not the culprit in this issue but the victim. Again. wowowee is only the program/show that creates the gameplay. but when it comes to prices it come to the sponsors responsibility.

and to the wondering ungrateful that is loitering aroung wowowee for 7 months.. its somehow her fault. why? Wowowee is a variety show. and as such its a busy show, having to give prices everyday to the winning contestant.

She should have gone to Globe Asiatique office in Ortigas in the first place. i mean for 7 month. wa jud na sud sa iyang ungrateful brain na mo adto sa Globe Asiatique office. o'coman.!
