Michael Jackson, I think hes the only Pop artists nga na rock n roll hall of fame.......... tungod siguro na sa iya achievements


but some of his songs are rock music..... like beat it featuring van halen on the axe, and dirty diana featuring Steve Stevens (gitarista ni Billy Idol)si steve stevens pud to ang ga lead sa soundtrack sa Top Gun....... and of cours Black and White and Give in to me which features Slash on guitar............

its funny that the most important groups of the 20th century only revolve around the last 40 years and none from the sixty years prior to those forty or so years!! And on top of that, it's only about rock music!!?

I see no jazz or standards greats from where 90% of pop music and songs (RnB, soul, ballads), is patterned after. Greats like gershwin, Duke ellington etc., Rodgers and Hammerstein, Bernstein etc.

When restricted to Rock music, then the three most influential "figures" (solo Artists can be considered as a group because the sound of their music- meaning instrumentation and character defines the same influences as a group). the top three then would be:

Chuck Berry -- the guy who introduced rock and roll to the mainstream public (even before elvis) without him we probably might not have rock and roll!!

The beatles - For the development and expansion of the rock song form from a 3 chord progression to the application of all things standards, classical, jazz, funk, blues, and progressive soundscaping, then giving it acceptance in the mainstream audience.

Jimi Hendrix Experience - No guitarist that ever used overdrive or distortion cannot say that they are not influenced by this guy. All guitar harware and guitar effects revolve around what this guy introduced!!! Without him, there would be no distortion or super overdrive, and so influenced all those guitar sound of succeeding great bands like, U2. Clapton, the smiths, Mettalica, Black sabbath, Pink floyd, The ramones, the clash, Led Zeppelin, NIN, velvet Underground etc. etc. etc., This is a sound that started or at the least, influenced the sound of, metal, grunge, new wave, glam, and a host of other rock genres.

sa ani na decade " 2000" morag dili na jud kaau na maka-appreciate bai.... kay kung naa man nigawas na influencial band karon na era.. para na2 dili naman ta ma-influence coz w've been influenced sa 4 ka decade na nag-una na2... diba? so we hoe kung naa man... mostand-oout jud cya sa tanang bands na naggawas karon!
