to be honest, I'm not yet cleared also regarding your goal ""ONLINE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM FOR COMPUTER PROGRAMMING DOCUMENTS""

What does exactly you mean about "Computer Programming Documents" ? Where in first place it doesn't makes any sense to me... If you have Computer Programming Languages, then we have a Computer Programming Documents? What Documents are you referring to? Codes? Manuals? Tech. Notes? (as written by tech. writer in any dev. Environment), is it like a library? Tutorial?
The statement here "Computer Programming" is so broad either... plus the word “DOCUMENTS” which makes it more too general to… This documents may contains, CODE? USER GUIDE? REQUIREMENTS? who knows? mix information? and may have different versions?

You mentioned “Online Retrieval” is your goal supports some subversioning Of any documents? Let say “DOCUMENT A” have version 1 2 3 4 5 6 7…

Hi If im not mistaken ang goal sa ilang system is to produce an online application much similiar sa google docs, and in some ways similiar to SCM(svn,mercurial,bazaar,git and etc)

Yes, exactly... I think this is the goal of ycole. There are two options comes to my mind here its either CVS or SVN... I don't want to discuss either about the two, but to share on my side, We used SVN now, due to some policies that cannot be implemented in CVS... you will find a lot of discussion regarding CVS vs SVN...maybe this is a good start for ycole, to examine both advantages and disadvantages...

hmm maybe i misread some of her post pero mao wala na kuha kai keyword ani na system is to keep track on the version-ing, if naka kita ko ana i would jump to CVS and SVN na system same as what sourceforge does, kai if the words i see is store and retrieve i see a storage space , true that! but if it was documented na there was a systematize process of organizing to keep track of the version of the code/documentation, then thats a good topic.

first thing i would do is to get rid of the ambiguity of this proposal, like me i misunderstood the whole purpose and process of the title
