A pound of .NET Framework, an ounce of PYTHON and a quart of C/C++ would be d best three programming languages you should master cause these languages are in demand in this age.Unfortunately,PYTHON is not applicable/demand in our country, but JAVA would be an alternative.

Not applicable/demand in our country does those countries have seen something about PYTHON where our fellow countrymen don't

for me...well, in my personal experience... I'm safe...or was being safe to know C, C++, & Python. to get more details...

C = start highschool (late 1990's), effectively used or doing few jobs in college. (2001-2006)
C++ = during my first OJT around (2005) of course combined to C until I get hired on that company.
Python = just last year... around February 2007, here in abroad.
C#.NET = just June 2008 LOL how fresh... my boss told me to do so...yuck

well, edblasco, try to consider other advice also... every person has its own success stories... pick where you are comfartble to work with.... pick something that you will LOVE till your retirement age.

I like Turbo Pascal better than Basic, I used Borland Turbo Basic 1.0 way back 1989 I think. I no longer use it now off course, hehehe
