All existing, new and promising MTB routes of varying degree of difficulty are now plotted on the Central Cebu Road & Barangay Maps (2010 edition). The map reflects 98% of all upland paved and unpaved roads and 80% of medium to long biketrails from Danao City to Minglanilla (flat routes in urban areas not included) Though still in its final editing.

The map is scaled (1:50,000); roads are surveyed using engineering trimble GPS and updated utilizing the googleearth sat photos and were confirmed on-site by personally biking the routes and overlaid on the NAMRIA topographic map so elevations and directions can be read. Added to it are names of barangays and some names of significant sitios and their accurate locations If finished, it can be printed in A3 (equivalent to 2 short bondpapers) or in A1 (12 bondpapers) sizes and in color. Programs use to view is either, adobe, Arcview or Auto CAD. This will be the first complete and detailed map of Central Cebu for all motorists and cyclists. Much detailed than the book published by Mr. Langevoord and Funk entitled Cycling Philippines, 2006 edition.

Again, the map will only show the roads and bike trails but no suggested MTB bike routes. However, you may visit and log on to Wikiloc.com for suggested MTB Routes in Central Cebu and for the whole Cebu island. Try them if you have not, SAFE BIKING and enjoy your ride everyone!

If you dig single track, Freeride, exploration trails, etc.. contact CEBU EXTREME BIKERS UNION. 09063088442(SHERWIN).

We have a lot of trails thats pure single track, with ocassional cliffs, and degree of elevation that will scare you once in a while...

In guadalupe, there are a lot of single trails there:

1. From Roosevelt to Napo. Technical single track. Cliffy and very steep but very nice as well.
2. From RCPI tower to baksan.

Dear fellow MTBikers:

As announced, you may now download the road and trail map (pdf efile format) for Central Cebu from the following link: [u]Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

For those who are comfortable reading topographic maps, a topo edition of the map can also be downloaded but still in its draft form but readable. With this kind of map one can recognize the steepness and elevations of roads and places, thus determine the degree of difficulty. Unfortunately, some short single bike tracks are not reflected due to the map scale.

The map is best printed on A3 size (minimum size) paper and in color. Supplementing the map are the posted suggested routes in the following websites: : www.[URL="http://www.GoogleEarth.com"]Google Earth.com[/URL] (in the slidebar choose Gallery and under it activate Wikiloc icon to show routes on the google map) and www.wikiloc.com (search for Cebu City, Philippines).

For maximum use of the map, plot your selected routes from the said websites on the map and bring this with you in the field.
