This question is millennia old and not even the best minds we had philosophically settled this question for good. I'm not sure I can do any better.

Therefore, whether free will be fact or fallacy, I am content to know that I can plan my life and work my plans, with the hope of dying having lived the life I believed was best.

for me god gives us free will

he is full of wisdom na iya na gihatag. maot man sad mudool ta nya tungod kay g impose...instead gihatag nya nato ang desisyon to follow him or not.

in that way ato desisyon 2 have contentment and happiness in him...

you don't even have to associate it with god.

it is as simple as deciding whether to kill or not to kill, or to believe or not to believe in a god.

we exercise free will everyday. to brush or not to brush our teeth, to take or not to take a shower, etc.

even being something or somebody is a simple and daily exercise of free will

"to be or not to be. That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing, end them."

Damn, I can still memorize that.

.. oh yeah, my apologies though. It's just that at least in this medium people will get to understand that not everything that has "biblical phrases" has it's divine grace.

i agree doc. i already rephrased the title to make it less contentious...

my thought is that maybe if "what will be has already been," then maybe this would bring comfort to those who has a lot to regret in life. not that i'm condoning slack excuses for committing mistakes. rather, help a sorry being get on with life...

    Ecclesiastes 3 :15
    Whatever is has already been,
    and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.

while bro. Eli read the bible and read succeeding verses or other verses to explain, so bro. Eli didn't explain from his own but the bible explains its just he's like a guide who give directions.

    Peace!

note: you're using the same bible(christian) yet arrive at different conclusions. those are just probable scenarios. one of you got it right/wrong....or nobody got it at all....*(i did not include: everybody got it right, coz you people are still y'know what about each other)

here's my point: if i ask you where is evil? inside or outside of God? if you say outside, then that wud be saying that there is something greater than God containing God and whatever is outside of Him.

Do you believe that there is nothing greater than God?

i'm not asking about the physical location of evil. im trying to show that nothing is outside of God. not even evil itself. the hard truth is that we have been trying to ascribe to God all that is good. we overlooked the real purpose of evil. far apart what man's sinfulness have manifest out of it...

then again, remember that knowledge of good and evil sprung from the same tree in the garden of eden...

then its your part to know where we difer. and let me correct you the conclusion must be within the bible and supported by verse not by the mind of the pastors and leaders.
Then how could you close your probability?

    Peace!
