It's part of drawing Manga characters mn . . Those who have bigger eyes makes them look like youngsters(which in fact most of the manga or anime characters are) . . If you look at aged/old characters you'll notice na gagmay or sharpened na ila eyes

And i think Japanese artists draw large eyes kay small man ilang mata.
