Kurosawa's movies do not really focus on blood and gore as much as Tarantino's or Rodriguez' movies do.
kapoian kog blood and gore.. I'm more interested with the not so mainstream disturbing movies

Korean Chan-wook Park's psychological torture movies like Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Oldboy (2003), or Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005)

There's also the violent films from French Gaspar Noe's I Stand Alone (199 or Irreversible (2002)
And then Darren Aronofsky's Requiem for a Dream () or even movies by Michael Haneke (French) and even David Lynch movies like Blue Velvet or Eraserhead..

tarantino and rodriguez are now so mainstream.. try to find alternative and you'll find out more!
