im just curious if the materials they used are all Made in China
Chances are, yes. The launch and capsule technology (also spacesuits) borrows heavily from the old Soviet/Russian designs, but the materials used to create these are made in China. Which is why it took them such a long time to get to this stage--just trying to refine, say, the processing to create ablative material for the Shenzhou's heatshield, I mean the research for that alone could have taken more than 10 years.

Lol here you go, finally got around to post these.
CNSA Logo
and...
UFP and Star Trek Logo.
Thats it, China definitely loves star trek lol.
I'd be more astonished if the philippines sent a man to the space..haha..
Watch out for the new one coming out next year lol.
Anyway, I think you pointed out the scientific aspect of the space race. But bear in mind that there was as much a political dimension to things as there was a scientific one. The space race was a chance for countries to show off what their respective bureaucracies could accomplish. More missions meant more money expended, and that really catches people's attentions. The general public doesn't understand the scientific intricacies of space missions. To most of us, countries are economically powerful to be "wasting" funds on space travel. (Reference to some poster's reaction on the Mars lander thread) It's also about perceptions and reactions to countries showing muscle. China needs more public attention if they want to start another space race. Don't get me wrong, they will be a force to be reckoned with when the time comes. If they manage to land a probe in Mars, or maybe even work on a manned program for the Moon, now we're talking.

the saddest part is that china should have diverted the funds to help the poor in china than to send a man to space... if china really wants to show off, the government should've started aleviate their poor first...but then again, what can you expect from a communist government.
