I am not sure if what I am thinking is what you mean but no. I do not think the number of prospective buyers will be "trimmed down" since everyone can still view threads. There's always the Private Messaging system if they want to inquire. What it will do though is it will effectively get rid of thread hijackers and crappers making the Buy/Sell boards better.

@teenaavi it seems that there were abuses in the past, thus the administrators have to decided to make sellers earn the right/credibility to post in the buy & sell section or go the paid-membership route.
