UPDATE: DUBIOUS testimony from the rape victim..tsk
----------------------------------------------------------
The 36-year-old priest opted not to give any comments to the media, but Dalawampu did not think twice.
She questioned the credibility of the complainant.
Dalawampu said the woman told the panel that after she was raped, she then went to the plaza to be with her boyfriend until 10 p.m.
“We just find that testimony contrary to natural reaction. Would you go out on a date with your boyfriend after you were raped?” Dalawampu asked.
She also asked why the woman failed to immediately report the incident. Also, Dalawampu noted that the Sunday after the woman was allegedly raped, the woman went back to the parish church to hear mass that Belciña officiated and she even asked for her allowance.
The woman’s lawyer declined to comment on the hearing. He just accompanied her as she was rushed out of Gubalane’s office.
Belciña will be presented during the next clarificatory hearing on May 9. (JGA of Sun.Star Cebu)

Boyfriend withdraws his retraction; Fr. Joey’s camp cries foul
NO, one of the defense’s witnesses in the rape complaint against Fr. Jose Belciña isn’t missing. He just seems to keep changing his mind.
First, Justin Macalolooy issued an affidavit, dated May 6, in which he cast doubts on the complainant’s character. He retracted this in an affidavit issued last Wednesday, May 24, in which he described the complainant, his girlfriend, as a good woman who did not behave flirtatiously (“buotan ug dili igat-igaton.”)
But, yesterday, he showed up at the office of defense lawyer Gloria Lastimosa-Dalawampu and took back the statements raised in the May 24 affidavit. He claimed he was merely forced into signing it by two unidentified men.
The same men, he narrated, forced him to go with them to the Office of the Cebu City Prosecutor, where his statement was subscribed and sworn to by Assistant City Prosecutor Victor Laborte.
About the same time he was at Dalawampu’s office yesterday, the rape complainant’s camp held a press conference at the office of Provincial Board Member Agnes Magpale, saying the ex-boyfriend was missing.
