mark cuban should tone down his attitude, sobra ra iyang pagka-hambugiro. imagine, nag-plano na sila sa parade route sa ilang victory celebration after winning game 2. mura'g insulto man to sa ilang kontra and it came back to bite dallas in their butts...

mark cuban should tone down his attitude, sobra ra iyang pagka-hambugiro. imagine, nag-plano na sila sa parade route sa ilang victory celebration after winning game 2. mura'g insulto man to sa ilang kontra and it came back to bite dallas in their butts...in response to Mark Cuban being labeled "hambugero", that's a fair description. but I admire him as an owner though, hands-on, no-nonsense and one of the best there is. sometimes he gets out of line but that's why fans love the "fan" in Mark Cuban. that's why the media from NBA cities like Atlanta, Toronto, Portland and the rest of the bottom dwellers wishes that their franchise's owners would follow suit with how Mark Cuban miraculously maneuevered Dallas from the doldrums of NBA in the 90's to their present achievements in the last 6 years. that's a feat on it's own, a story worth to be told over and over.

re planning the parade route after game 2: it was the city officials of Dallas that planned that victory celebration route after the 2nd game victory, that's normal for every city 'coz that involves logistics, manpower, crowd control (DFW is a metroplex of about 20 million people) etc etc.. and that's a big task.. and lastly "the city officials of Dallas" is not "Mark Cuban" and vice versa.

ok, i may be mistaken with the parade thing (those city officials should not have made those plans public), but i still find fault with cuban's constant whining during the finals. as a result, their coach and players also followed suit with the whining and lost focus on playing the game. i think he was a distraction to the team.

ok, i may be mistaken with the parade thing (those city officials should not have made those plans public), parades after (or even before) big wins for that matter are "supposed to be" kept secret, but with the onset of high-tech gadgetry used by the tri-media, sometimes the paparazzi, or just simply your normal citizens inside those rooms where the meetings took place as the saying goes - everybody has his price - there's no more secrets kept to the public. more recent were the last Superbowl: the cities of Seattle and Pittsburgh, NBA: Dallas and Miami, MLB: Chicago and Houston, NHL: North Carolina and Edmonton to name a few.. have planned parades way before the events/games even took place..

but i still find fault with cuban's constant whining during the finals. as a result, their coach and players also followed suit with the whining and lost focus on playing the game. i think he was a distraction to the team.there's also a downside to everything.. of all the good things that Mark Cuban brought with him comes the bad, and sadly, there's no going around it.. what you see is what you get. but after weighing all the pros and cons, I believe most fans and players alike would take Mark Cuban as their franchise owner hands-down without even blinking. imagine those cellar dwelling teams in the NBA: Hawks, Trailblazers, Raptors etc etc.. they'd wish they have this owner on their team..

think about this: the Dallas Mavericks were the laughing stock, the dog-butted team, the punchline of most sports related jokes and even voted as the worst franchise in the 90's by Sports Illustrated until Mark Cuban bought it and made those moves in the last 6 years. they went to the playoffs all those time and made it to the NBA Finals just a couple of weeks ago, that's a good.. shall we say "great" turnaround for a god-forsaken franchise.. I think that's a fair enough description right?

in terms of spending money for quality players and team executives, i give credit to mark cuban. but in picking which players to pay, credit must be given to the gm. i agree he has his ups and downs. but his downside showed up on such a critical time during the finals. he should know when to whine and when to just grin and bear it.

@slakker: I am just wondering what would be your reaction if the Dallas won the title?

in terms of spending money for quality players and team executives, i give credit to mark cuban. but in picking which players to pay, credit must be given to the gm.currently, the Mavs have their share of bad contracts also: Michael Finley (he's still on their payroll), Keith Van Horn ($15M), Tariq Abdul Wahed (he's still on their payroll) to name a few.. just like what I said "take the good ones together with the bad". if I give credit to the GM Donnie Nelson or Mark Cuban for their good decisions, I'll also give them a hard time for all the bad deals they've done, simple as that.

i agree he has his ups and downs. but his downside showed up on such a critical time during the finals. he should know when to whine and when to just grin and bear it. his whining has always been there, almost $2M in fines all throughout his stint with the Mavs and about $250k this year alone. maybe because they (Mavs) were the focus of all the attention by making it to the Finals this year that every move he makes is magnified thru the media, but honestly, that's just how he is every game.. and I've seen almost 95% of their games since 2001.

if cuban did not constantly complain during the finals, wa ta kabalo, basig champion ang dallas ron. and then di ko mu-comment kay champion man sila. pero diri sa real world, napildi man sila...
