I do not think that this will ever happen. The US is militarily impotent after Iraq and Astan and the covert wars elsewhere. It is just a ploy by major players to manipulate gas prices as new active research in renewable energy is going to come up with new discoveries or make those GCC buy expensive missile systems they wont be able to operate nor maintain without the lucrative defense contracts to US and European contractors.
