Officials of the oil industry management bureau of the Department of Energy, said that there is still another roll back to be expected by the consumers, although there are some indications that the Oil price is starting to go up again because the prices has not gone up that much yet. Local pump prices should be reduced by another P0.50 per liter.
But, with regards to the price of the LPG, they said that for now, LPG prices will go down. Other oil companies like Oil giants Pilipinas Shell, Petron Corp. and Chevron Philippines (formerly Caltex) reduced the prices of their liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products by an average of 56 centavos effective yesterday.
Independent oil player Total Philippines (TotalGas) followed suit and reduced its LPG prices at noon yesterday.
The oil firms said the price reduction is the result of decreasing world crude prices and the strengthening of the peso.
