commenting & criticizing the result of the pageant is NOT NECESSARILY crab mentality...i agree w/ that. but the way one does it COULD make it one.

telling that there is no Q&A in Miss World anyway should not be an excuse it's ok, coz it's not. we are just looking at the weak spots of Janina in retrospect w/ the coming Miss World pageant. having no Q&A at Miss World is a fact and a likely advantage, but it doesn't mean she should stop improving herself more...

and if we also think better in bashing the organizers or judges on their supposed "MISJUDGMENT", did they admit misjudgment? wala. that mentality is just plain undermining, or second guessing the success of the pageant...otherwise, kamo nalay pag organize ug judge mismo...

as what i see here, maybe the organizers just failed to train or prep lang the contestants. benefit of the doubt...

I don't care about the wrong grammar - it's superfiicial.

But to give a hallow answer is something else.

crab because people are criticizing her?

so what should be done? celebrate her.. amm.. effort?

It's not a campus pageant. It's Bb Pilipinas.. but if she's the kind of girl representing Filipinas today maybe it's a wake up call for the government to respect Article 14 sect. 1 and prioritize the Education Budget. We have a deteriorating educational system - yes girl. she indeed represents it.

some people just don't get it. it's never always wrong to criticize. but the way one is doing it could be called "crabbing".

what should be done? best answer is "constructive criticism and give her the benefit of the doubt"...im not insisting here but merely suggesting...maau nang maklaro nako daan.

if some people do resort to crabbing, wa natay mahims ana but to let them be aware lang. it's our cultural disease nga way tambal pa...

I don't think it's crab mentality after all. it's plain disappointment.

    egyptian_princess, camila, devayoki, and bemS:

constructive criticism.. what could be better than that? I'm just not sure if she can understand any form of criticism though.

Velvett sad it's plain disappointment.. and I couldn't agree more. Truth is, we shouldn't really be against Janina. I've read from the earlier posts that she knows what she's getting into- well, indeed she knows she's going the pageant, but what she's really getting herself into.. I'm not sure she's aware of that.

The disappointment here is addressed to the judges.

^don't worry, guys. if it was a Ginoong Pilipinas who stumbled over thoughts (plus grammar and pronunciation), most of us here would still be as disappointed.

agree...and some people say their disappointment rather indubitably harsh. Terms like Bogo, Pataka, Tuga-tuga are all but expressions of aggravations simply resulting from failed expectations but I don't think its crab mentality. Bunga ra gyud na sa kalagot!

i agree to give her the benefit of the doubt -- but it isn't still crab when some people refuse to give her that... they just can't trust her enough to represent that real image/message we want to send during the Ms. World.

i'm not an expert to discern when in comes to judging according to pageant rules (although i can fully discern she'd make any man happy with her stats wrapped around her ) BUT i strongly feel she is just too sly for a 17 year old...and that's not the kind of representation we want.

i think all of us here were disappointed on different levels coz it somehow failed the expectations that we wanted.

it just so happened lain2x lang ang mga comments and criticisms. some are negative, some are constructive, some are crabbing, some are not. some are harsh, some are soft. some made a big deal out of it, some small, some none.

in the end, wa may nawala nato but instead we gained some insights & moral lessons here. moral lessons for Janina, the organizers, the other contestants, and lastly, the viewers.
