Draymond: Lakers 'not bad anymore'

The Los Angeles Lakers have defeated the Golden State Warriors two straight times at Staples Center, although this season's purple-and-gold squad feels different than last year's Kobe farewell show.

"They're not bad anymore," Draymond Green said after L.A.'s 20-point beatdown of the Dubs Friday, according to Bleacher Report's Kevin Ding.

"They're hungry. Those guys are growing up."

Through six games this season, clear development can be seen already in the likes of youngsters Julius Randle, D'Angelo Russell, and Larry Nance.

"This year compared to last year I feel like we're playing for something," Randle, who scored a team-high 20 points, told reporters afterward.

It's still highly unlikely the Lakers make the playoffs this season, but coach Luke Walton appears to have them on the right track. Friday's "Showtime" era throwback uniforms were pretty sweet, too.

i think by the end of the season, lakers will still be at least top 5 of this list, for as long as there will be no major injuries.

3 straight wins for our Lakers, we are now above .500 with 4-3 standing hehehe.. hoping we they can continue the streak. The young guys are really playing great basketball, also Swaggy P is back with his shooting and defense which isnt known for him. Julius Randle still a beast inside but sometimes he has this tunnel vision which needs to be fix soon. Rookie Brandon Ingram is playing well if he is the PG dishing and making the right decisions. Overall I like how our Lakers are playing basketball.
