Director Bryan Singer is gay but I'm sure he'll deliver with SUPERMAN RETURNS, and his upcoming thrillers THE MAYOR and YOU WANT ME TO KILL HIM....

As long as Bryan Singer or Ian McKellen won't make autobiographical films that justify their homosexuality I think it's okay...

McKellen actually was drawn to the X-MEN adaptations because he liked the idea of persecution and indifference, what it means to be Jewish, to be Black, to be gay, etc...

Sayang, if you asked me.

The movie is so overflowing with great ideas, that I wish that this thing should have been stretched to 3 movies. THIS MOVIE should have been Part 1. Part 1 should started with the mutant "cure" with Hank McCoy as the mutan-rights activist he only "says" he was in this one; I love the idea of the cure because it really raises issues that really defines what the X-men mythos is about. Plus, it's got all these gray issues that one would normally not find in your average comic-turned-action film. If they wanted to stay true to the spirit of the comics, they should have stretched this idea to 3 movies just like the typical comic used to stretch stories over years and decades.

But, the execution, even since part 1, I felt, was never all that. It just lacked the style and the flare that The Matrix had. It lacked that subversive, crazy-over-the-top action that Matrix Revolutions had. Sure, there were stunts and explosions, but nothing that really took my breath away.

X2 was great! 28 studio drafts and writers constantly armed with laptops on the set, in my opinion gave the story the taut foundation it needed regardless of deviations from the mythos......

From the mastermind of the attack of the President, the attack in the school, to Wolverine slowly discovering how he was created...

Bryan Singer is a true visionary.... Did you see the fight scene between Logan and Deathstrike? It had some of the best camera moves and high angle shots ever!
