This is not the VATICAN! We are NOT under the Vatican Constitution. We are under the PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION! The Philippine Republic abides by the principles of DEMOCRACY and NOT a SECULARIST STATE. Democracy STRESSES and PREREQUISITES the separation of church and state! The CHURCH (and its followers) have NO POWER over the government.

Ergo, the "public" that you infer to has NO RIGHT to destroy/alter the stuff I own or the tools I use for expressing what I want to express, under the banner of Democracy.

dont forget about our culture. it maybe acceptable in other places but not here. its the same as drugs. some countries consider it legal while most countries dont. it depends on the culture.

who said something about destroying? im an educated person and i would never destroy other people's property... dont generalize every christian... somebody might want to do that but not everybody...

you've been saying about seperation of church and state, well cruz's should have not included those figures if he wants seperation. he have crossed the line so what do you expect the church to do? keep a blind eye on it as if nothing happens?

what he should have done is put those phallic figures on those politicians mouth... now that would be a different story and i dont think that wont even cause a stir.

the church has no power over the goverment but does that mean the government can disrespect the church then and do what it pleases for the sake of something?

how can we not include the church on it when they were using religious figures?
So if an artist made a painting showing Buddha fellating a dog, had his painting displayed in the CCP, and as a result angering every Buddhist in the country to the point of threatening to kill the artist and burn the place down, do you think it is right for the Buddhists to do that (cheap jab: Buddhists are typically more peaceful than Christians though, so this is unlikely)?

Which defeats the purpose of showing art. Just because the idea doesn't fit, it doesn't mean that it shouldn't be shown.

In my experience, the best way to have people notice your work or idea is to get it banned by the Catholic Church. How many art shows/ galleries do we know? Have we even gone to one?

Now, how many banned art displays have you known before this one?

    Mission accomplished, CBCP.

yeah... some people make statements or often conclude right away without thinking more or exploring other possibilities. just like people who said "oil and water doesnt mix".oil and water do mix. just add soap to oil and water.

Which just proves that oil and water won't mix.
