I had two years of Spanish class and we've a couple of neighbors who are Spanish citizens and I've never heard them use "chao" in their goodbyes. We toured Bilbao and Barcelona, and Oh! what an amazing place, and my brilliant memory still could not recall any "chao". But for your consolation, I gathered Chileans use the word informally.
And - For the life of me, I could not imagine how in the world your passed your English comprehension class when for just one simple sentence you had to be so perplexed in dissecting its meaning.
@sirius
Now that's simple statistics that somehow a few of our netizens could never grasp as they keep on blaming the church and its politicians - when even they themselves defy the churches stand on artificial birth control. They obnoxiously think they are mentally and immorally superior over the general population.

Slovak: do videnia!
Slovenian: živio
Spanish: adiós, chao
Swedish: hej då!
Apparently your spanish class for 2yrs/spanish citizen neighbors/touring Bibao and Barcelona aint enough to learn such a broad langguage.. My sister is a BSforeign service graduate, major in Diplomacy and her fiance, major in International Trade, told me that one of the prerequisite for their FS exam is that they have to be knowledgeable of at least 6 major languages.. And i can see that it aint that easy to learn a language for a very short time..
Actually, i flunked my EnglishIV subject 3x due to my habit of arguing with the professors(oftentimes bein asked to leave the classroom).. hehe,
aah yes.. just one word.. (solely) yet the idea of the claim was changed..
It was you who was pointing out to the thread title as being unjust(or for the whole idea of the claim for that matter), yet you're complaining bout it being dissected.. hehehe..
The church has nothing to do with our over population,,, it's our beloved countrymen that keeps on propagating without thinking... The Church only stands its doctrine, im not saying that Im against with contraceptives ha... The main problem why our country experienced population explosion, its because of our culture and lack of knowledge regarding family planning...Originally Posted by cyclops

It's the lack of discipline. We don't need to be highly intelligent or educated or to be highly moral to learn and understand the concept of family planning. It's simply, if one is sensible enough, then he/she will not have more children than he/she can support. Regarding contraceptives? A lot more effective solution in preventing pregnancy is not to engage in ***. And it goes back to discipline.
what if kung minyo diay bai, di gihapon sila mag engage og ***? what if irregular ang period sa babae... di na ma apply ang rhythm method... na mu abstain tapos hulat na sad sa cycle. mag withdrawal na lang, sila? - pero kaning practisa dili man sad gihapon safe and may cause pregnancy og pwede maka cause og negative phychological effect sa babaeOriginally Posted by yokam
easier said than done.. bsan ako, mka.feel man jud ug urge.. galing lng kay mka.access man ko ug contraceptives..Lisud rba jud na mapugngan.. labi pa if asawa na..Originally Posted by yokam
pro ang majority sa phils? hapit di na gni kakaon, mopalit pa ug contraceptives(artificial)? kana kay di makaya sa gobyerno ug hatag ug trabaho tanan, at least man lng unta bsan manghatag man lng contraceptives(ligation,condoms,etc..) sunod man pod sa sulti sa simbahan.. hadlok mwad.an ug vote nig election..
That's why I said that it needs discipline and we all know that discipline itself is not that easy. And it applies to all whether single or married. Everybody does feel the urge and I know that it's not easy, it's real difficult to control it.easier said than done.. bsan ako, mka.feel man jud ug urge..
Try to do some back reading, I said that a lot more effective solution yet never did I suggest that everyone should abstain from ***.what if kung minyo diay bai, di gihapon sila mag engage og ***? what if irregular ang period sa babae... di na ma apply ang rhythm method... na mu abstain tapos hulat na sad sa cycle. mag withdrawal na lang, sila? - pero kaning practisa dili man sad gihapon safe and may cause pregnancy og pwede maka cause og negative phychological effect sa babae
Nya kay proven na man na nga dli madala ug discipline sa kaugalingon(in general).. thats when the obligation of the state comes in..Originally Posted by yokam
